Description:
Make sure to lower your volume on your system, because there are no options ingame. This is an early prototype where we want to find out how to navigate in an open world with audio cues. We need feedback if this system is working or if we have to find a new aproach to this.

Controls:
Spacebar - activate the navigation to the next target.
Arrow Keys - move your character
Return - activate or deactivate a black screen to block out visuals

Content:
There are 3 stationary targets to find. By pressing spacebar you activate the navigation and you should hear a sound like flowing water left or right from your position. When the sound becomes slightly more muffled, your destination is below (south of) you.  You will hear a "yay" sound when you reached your destination. Press spacebar to activate the next target.

Intentions:
In a game this system would be used to enable users to navigate on their own to a certain goal. We wanted to give the players maximum agency so that they can explore. In the final system we intend to add audio cues for stationary objects such as trees, collectable items or NPCs so that players can create a mental map, find interesting stuff on the way and explore the world more freely.

We would like to know if this system is helping people with visual impairments to find goals and navigate freely. Please let us know if you have recommendations for output or input and also what options you would like to see added in a game that works with this system (e.g. optional volume adjustments, being able to change the sound of the navigation or whatever would help you to navigate better).
By "better" we not only want to provide a goal finding system but we want to enable all players to explore a complex world full of secrets, locations and encounters.
Also we would appreciate hints towards games that might already do a great job as we haven't been able to find games with audio cue systems that encourage to explore rather than navigating straight towards something.
